This indicator is proposed as an indicator for Sustainable Development Target 05.b Enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women.

Data for this indicator are collected by NSOs, though household surveys. By 2015, data for this indicator were available for only 3 developing countries although OECD countries have been collecting data for this indicator for a number of years.

ITU collect data on this indicator from NSOs, annually. By 2015, data for this indicator were available for only 3 developing countries although OECD countries have been collecting data for this indicator for a number of years.
